With our personalized approach our nurses and allied healthcare professionals understand that we will do anything that we possibly can to meet their needs and give them a great travel experience.

Q: Where does StaffingMedical USA have assignments?
A:
StaffingMedical USA works nation-wide and has assignments in all 50 states. If there is a particular area that you would like to go, the team at StaffingMedical USA will take a pro-active marketing approach to create a position that is specific to your needs.

Q: What requirements does StaffingMedical USA have to become a traveler with them?
A:
StaffingMedical USA requires that all of our nurses have at least one year of core experience in the specialty they are applying for. Certain hospitals may have other specific requirements such as more experience in their specialty, certifications and recent travel experience. Each hospital has specific requirements but in general as long as you have 1 year of core experience in your specialty, we can match you with a great assignment that meets your needs.

Q: How long are the assignments?
A:
Generally most travel assignments with StaffingMedical USA are 13 weeks in length, but often a hospital may have shorter contracts for 8 weeks or even longer contracts for 26 weeks.

Q: Am I obligated to work for more than the initial contract, a certain number of contracts?
A:
Absolutely not, your only contract obligation is the initial contract that you sign up for. After that, you are free to do whatever you would like.

Q: Do the hospitals ever offer extensions on the assignments?
A:
Absolutely! Many hospitals offer our travel nurse and allied healthcare professionals 8 or 13 week extensions, even more than once. Once the hospital understands the quality of our travelers, they usually offer that nurse an extension on the original contract.

Q: Can I depend on StaffingMedical USA to keep me working after my initial contract?
A:
Absolutely! If the hospital has not offered an extension, or you do not wish to extend your assignment, StaffingMedical USA consistently has hundreds of open positions all across the country that will keep you working as long as you desire!

Q: How much time do I need to notify StaffingMedical USA before I would like to begin a contract?
A:
As much time as you would like. StaffingMedical USA’s team can speak to you several months before you are ready to travel, or in a lot of cases even if you are ready to start ASAP! StaffingMedical USA does many “fast starts” and can have you placed out on assignment, with all housing and insurance benefits in less than 72 hours!

Q: If I need housing, do I get to pick the area and the place I would like to stay.
A:
StaffingMedical USA certainly hopes that you can help us out with some recommendations and will do everything that we can to meet your needs. Many of our travel nurses find places that they would like to stay, but your housing placement team is fully trained and experienced in finding a quality, safe location for your assignment accommodations.

Q: If I have another traveler that wants to stay with me, can we stay in the same place?
A:
Absolutely, and the best part about staying with another traveler is that both of you will get the remaining money of the combined housing allowances that is not used to get the housing. Many of our travel nurses and allied healthcare professionals prefer to stay with another traveler because they can receive extra money by staying in the same apartment or condo.

Q: How much money will I receive if I stay with another traveler?
A:
StaffingMedical USA combines both housing allowances and divides the remainder not used and pays each traveler equally. For example: if the housing allowance is $1000 and a 2-bedroom with furniture and utilities comes to $1200, then $800 a month is divided equally between both travel nurses and paid out on a weekly basis.

Q: What kind of furniture is included in the provided housing?
A:
StaffingMedical USA includes all the large furniture, bed, headboards, nightstands, lamps, sofa, loveseat, coffee table, end table, dining room table and chairs. StaffingMedical USA also will include a 25” color TV with TV stand!

Q: Can I have housewares or a softpak delivered if I do not wish to bring my own?
A:
Yes, most of the furniture companies that StaffingMedical USA works with offer these housewares packages and the traveler can request it to be delivered along with the other furniture.

Q: If there is an assignment that is in a state that I do not currently have a license for, will I be reimbursed for that license?
A:
Yes, if you do not have that state license before you have been submitted for the assignment, StaffingMedical USA will reimburse you for the license itself, 100%.

Q: When will I get my license reimbursement and travel money?
A:
StaffingMedical USA will give you these reimbursements on your first and second scheduled paycheck. The travel money will be paid out on your first check and an additional on your last check of your assignment. Your license reimbursement will be paid out on your second check. In most cases the travel money will be paid out tax-free.

Q: What is the “tax-advantage” plan and how do I qualify for it?
A:
The “tax-advantage” plan is a plan that was set up by the federal government (IRS) to give a tax-break to traveling professionals, such as our travel nurses and allied healthcare professionals, reimbursements for housing/lodging and meals and incidental expenses. Our travelers qualify for these “tax-free” reimbursements if they are working more than a 50 mile radius from their permanent residence.

Q: Can I bring my pet(s) along with me if I’m staying in housing that is provided by the company?
A:
Yes, StaffingMedical USA does what it can to accommodate any pet(s) that you may want to bring with you. In most cases our housing accommodations team can find a very comfortable, safe apartment/condo that allows pets. You will be responsible for paying any pet deposit(s) or pet rent that the facility requires. You will be notified in advance of what these deposits will be and you will be need to arrange the payment of these deposits and/or rent with the apartment management.

Q: I have many other nurses or allied healthcare professionals that are currently traveling or interested in traveling. Does StaffingMedical USA pay for referrals?
A:
Most certainly! StaffingMedical USA recognizes that the best candidates come from other travelers that are working for us and depend greatly on referrals from our traveling nurse team. StaffingMedical USA will pay up to $2000 for each nurse or allied healthcare professinal that is referred to the company and completes an assignment. It is broken down to $250 paid out per assignment that the referral completes, up to 8 assignments for total of $2000.
